Compassion over condemnation

Suicide is not a moral failure.

Suicidal thoughts are not evidence of weakness. People can reach points of overwhelming distress, hopelessness, isolation or pain, and shame can make it harder to ask for help.

We want to create spaces where people can speak before a crisis, be heard without judgement and reconnect with reasons to stay.

Faith and compassion

While we are here, we can care for one another.

People hold many different beliefs about life, death, spirituality and what may come afterwards. Some religious language can increase shame for someone already suffering. Sprinkle of Happiness chooses compassion, listening, connection and care over condemnation.

This is connected to Seva, compassion, equality and Chardi Kala.

What we believe

Suicide prevention can include standing beside people.

It can include listening, reducing isolation, practical support, helping someone connect with professional support, noticing when somebody is struggling, honest conversations, creative expression and community connection.

Sprinkle of Happiness workshops, circles and conversations are not emergency services, therapy or clinical treatment.

If you're worried about someone

Take it seriously. Listen calmly. Ask directly.

Sometimes the next step is a conversation.

After urgent and professional help are clearly in place, community can also matter: creative expression, conversation, walks, storytelling, peer connection and reflective spaces.
